You can see a very common plant in this place : the hedge of hawthorn.
In Flanders,The hedge of hawthorn has become rare due to the regroupement of the lands whereas in Wallonia, you can meet them frequently.
The thorns of this plant were used as hooks for fishing. The wood of the hedge of hawthorn being extremely tough, people in the middle ages used it as a chopping block for beheading.
We will continue on this way, pass ahead the camping of the oak forest and take the second forestpath on our left.
This path crossing the woods has been existing for centuries and is located on the map since 1757. Stay on this path and continue to walk.
