3 The Ourthe

Follow the path until you reach the next fork.

The Ourthe river is coming from the confluence of the Occidental Ourthe (53km of lenght) and the Oriental Ourthe (46km of lenght). They are converging at Nisramont, bringing together the Ourthe that then flows into the Meuse in Liège. The Ourthe is located in the basin of the Meuse.

This is the river that makes the valley so attractive for a large number of small and big animals.

In the summer, you can see the following animals between the rocks and the plants.

The lizard is a reptile, as for the snake and the turtle. It has 4 litlle legs and one long tail and its skin is composed of solid scales. The lizard is generally brown when he is living on the ground and green when he is living in the trees.

Some species can loose their tails when they are attacked. If the ennemy bites off the tail of a lizard, the tail will detach itself from the lizard's body and it will regrow slowly.
